Dudes - Got the stereo installed and it works great. I like what I bought. Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX and Pyle 6.0 Farad Digital Power Capacitor, dual battery setup (not sure this matters).

PROBLEM - Stereo reboots when the engine is started. Pain in the ASS given what I use the truck for.

SOLUTION - Attached the capacitor to the "constant power"/yellow wire of the stereo.

Any ideas on why this doesn't solve the problem?

Always appreciate your help!!

Thanks,
Rob

Capacitor reads 12+V.

When the IGN (typically red) lead has power cut by switching off your truck (or the typical circuits that cut power as the engine is cranked), it'll witch off the stereo.

Solution is to have a constant hot lead running through a fuse and switch to the radio's IGN lead. This way when you shut down the truck you can manually switch off the radio, and it'll still stay on during engine cranking. Be careful though, if the constant hot on the radio goes to too low of a voltage when cranking, the unit will switch off (and then back on once voltage is restored) regardless of whether the IGN lead is switched on or not.
