This is kinda the opposite of I can't "turn my key" issue. I've previously read the key won't turn posts, and did a secondary search for this type of problem so here we go:
My steering wheel isn't locking (intermittent previously for a few days, now a contionious issue) when I put it in park.
Of course when I learn it didn't lock is when I go to start the truck. I have been able to get the key to turn by finding the locking position and starting, with some effort "elbow grease"
Now it won't the steering wheel won't lock at all. I CAN turn the key by turning the "unlocked" wheel.
I did try my spare hide a key, which was dealer cut. No change.
I do have an electronic FSM, but since this is my daily driver and I hate to have to drive the 40 to work, (just joking) where should I start?
Linkage, park switch, the main question would be does the switch or the key/"linkage" make the steering wheel lock or is it all smoke and mirrors.
