After removing Charlie's steering wheel and reinstalling it, neither the horn nor cruise works. The problem is definitely in the spiral cable; I can bypass the connectors on either side and make the connection.

Anyone have any experience with these things dying? Or, failing that, useful words of wisdom on how to get this thing working again?

Thanks John. It's up to $289.00 now. The good thing is that it was used on just about every Toyota in the 90's.

I was hoping there was something stupid I did that could be undone.

Generally once those cables break, they can't be repaired.

I still have one here.

Why didn't I call you first?
