steering column length?

Ok, this might be a weird question but here goes. Im doing a saginaw conversion on my 1969 fj40 and im re-using the stock steering column. I didnt bother to measure how far from the dash to the steering wheel hub before i removed it. since i dont have seats yet to mock it up i need a measurement from dash to steering wheel for a stock setup just to get me in the ball park. Can one of you guys take a measurement please?

I measured on my 1980 and 1962 and both are about 12 inches between the dash and the steering wheel.

i would have to say it varies a few. Get your column set, continue your build, when you get to the seat mount section, make you fine adjustmen for cloumnt. THEN order you collapsable steering shaft. And to fine tune it even more, the internal shaft is solid and will be able to cut it to fit.
