Starting restoration on 76 FJ 40 (1 Viewer)

Need advice, is it best to strip all the old weather stripping from the vehicle, then have it painted or install new stripping the apply the paint. I am replacing all the stripping on the entire vehicle (76 FJ 40)

Hello and Welcome! I would recommend removing the old seal, painting and then applying the new. It will give you the best results.

Once you cut off the stripping use a wire wheel to remove the residue. Also use OEM replacement stripping and the 3M adhesive with painters tape to hold it until it dries.
