Like the title states. 1999 LC, original starter with contacts and plunger replaced about 25K miles ago (its at approx 290K now) is making grinding noises at start up, intermittently. Going back in to check out the situation. Have new manifold gaskets and a reman starter on order. Rumor has it there are two different solenoid connectors. Is this true? If so, does anyone know what the different part numbers are so that this job doesn't get side tracked by a connector.

Cheers,
Chris

There are two separate connectors, one on each side of the solenoid (manget switch plunger):
28226-50070
28226-50080

The difference is the shape of the contacts.

All years of Toyota Denso (OEM) or Denso starters. Use same wire housing connector block. The locking clip, on most breaks. I just carefully break away old wire housing plastic from wire lead, with small curved needle nose.
