I just started wiring my 9/71 cruiser and think I may have messed my starter up. The small termal on the selinoid, had a small white wire attached. I tried to take the nut off to remove it and wire directly to the stud and the stud itself just spins around.

For the small stud, nearest the engine block, is the stud just held in by the nut securing it from the outside? I am hoping that is the case. I was able to tighten it up with the nut, but have no idea if I've messed up something on the inside.

Thanks in advance for any help

Try it. Turn the key and see what happens.:meh:

Having a local guy do the initial start up of my rebuild to tune the carb. Just want all the other stuff in good order before I go down there.

Desided the heck with it. Just ordered the GR starter from Toyota. Under $100. Less than half the original one!:D
