i am having a little trouble with my starter. it is staying on after starting intermittently. it is on a 91 hdj80. the manuals i have with it says its the started or the switch, ( starte relay ?) . any way any help would be great since i live in yellowknife nt canada parts are hard to find and people that now anything about these rigs. thanks.

This has been covered here (just search for starter problems) extensively. It can lead to a fire in the engine compartment (very bad!). I am not too sure of the shipping restrictions to N.T., but if you can provide cdan (find Cruiser Dan in the vendor section) with the numbers off the side of the starter, he can send you some new contacts and a plunger. There is a very good walk-through of the starter rebuild in the FAQs.
I would keep a wrench near the battery and disconnect it if the starter continues to turn after start-up.

If you look in the faq (under maintenance, I think) you will find a link/s to starter contacts information. Fix it soon for safety's sake
