Hi All,

I have a weird issue that took me a long time to diagnose. My landcruiser would stall on startup a few times and sometimes have to give it a little gas to keep it running, but once started it runs perfectly normal. One time it did die while driving. The battery was replaced quite recently and the alternator was replaced 2 years ago.

This issue was solved by removing my aftermarket leds and replacing them with cheap stock halogens. The car has run perfectly for the past month with the halogens and yesterday I put the leds back in and right away the stalling problem came back. So my question is why are the leds doing this, I had these LEDs for 5 years with no issue until this problem came up.

if you have a decent multimeter, you can do a test to see how much amperage they draw. I always thought LEDs drew less current than incandescents , but who knows ?

Don't see anything from your other thread but I can say two points, one, friend of mine that's a tech said when they have a car now with mystery electrical issues, high up on the list to check is for aftermarket LED's, he said that is very common for it to be the problem. If you just google search "LED headlight issues" you'll find plenty. Second, it seems like the "better" LED's that advertise canbus integration fare better or last longer. So, as to your question as to why after 5 years yours started having issues, I'd guess the parts corroded in them or the solder joints inside cracked, poor manufacturing, etc.

What about unplugging the headlight connector?

I am using AUXITO brand LED headlights on all my toyotas and have no issues so far.
