I think This would look so much cleaner than the ARB snorkels.... Anyone seen one stateside? I want it! I found the guy on instagram that makes these for what would be about $650 US, but he's in Australia. Keep it stainless or black powdercoat it.... amirite?
Any downside to these?

I'm not a fan honestly. It's twice as much as the ARB (or 5x the price of the Chinese clone) looks more bulky, and doesn't seem to hug the body very close.

what I don't like about the big pipe idea is where it goes thru the fender. The safari has a moulded box at the bottom and it hides the hole into the fender.

I'm not against a metal snorkel. But I think if I had a choice it would be aluminum and made more square, like the PVC ones with a box at the bottom into the fender.

Stainless or not, nothing stops a person from using a pipe, even a steel exhaust one for a snorkel. This is the choice between nice looking or just gets the job done.

I think that's probably the ugliest thing you could add to a cruiser - hands down
Especially so because it's totally unnecessary anyway

I disagree. Besides my yeti and Patagonia sticker, a snorkel is a sure way of telling the world I'm not a basic Bitc off roader.

Super pimp, but it sticks out the side so far. Wonder if they could angle it out the top of the fender more to reduce the side stickout.

That's Danie Simpson's rig from Australia! She's got a youtube channel with a couple of sweet rigs that she wheels.

if you're going to be sarcastic, maybe don't add a whole extra syllable to the word "sarcasm"
With all the dust in the southwest, some people can benefit from snorkels. Thanks for your opinion though!

Gotta say...don't like it at all. Looks like a stove pipe to me.

I dig it

A competent ss tig welder could accomplish this fairly easily. <$200 in material...

If you are really wanting this I’d find someone to make it for you. I’d jump on it if you were local to me....

big power mods

A 4" ID snort would be nothing, but beneficial for a V8 / Diesel....
that's not to say that the Safari, or clones don't do the job (what im currently running) , as long as one keeps that engine stock......
Another benefit of these is that the AI is much cooler going in...
I like the looks of a snorkeled 60, but i get it... is not for everyone.

On a recent trip coming down on HWY 395 ambient temps were on the upper nineties°F.
AI read (MAF) 90°F while engine bay temps where on the 200°F
I'll take function over looks any day........

Are you saying that the air intake temp on a stock 60 setup would have been 200 degrees? And are you saying that the outside air was in the upper 90s but somehow by the time it got to the MAF it cooled itself down to 90 degrees? Neither of these things makes any sense to me. And even if the air intake is somewhat cooler, what is the gain? This isn't a dragster. Educate me.
