Im currently sorting my s#!+ out trying to figure the best way to do this and that, hoping you have some info to help me.

(BJ42 sua)

1. I want to do a spring flip and drill on the front but need to know if this is fine on non power steer trucks? as all of yours seem to have power steer.

2. My local spring shop can make me some rear 55 springs with 40 sized eyles that I want to put on the back. Will I need the same amount of leaves (as stock 55) to have the same height front and rear?

3. I want to extend my spring mounting points 2 inches down to get some more artticulation and also spin the front shackle mount arround so I can run a longer less steep shackle. Any comments on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance Kelvin

Oh and where would I get my d/shaft extended?

Hi I've finally figured out what I want to do.

1. Spring flp on rear and later when funds allow I'll put 55 springs back there.

2. I want to move the front hanger towards the firewall to allow for a longer less steep shackle, but the steering arm thing will get in the way.

I figure that if I drop the shackle mount down approx 2" it will clear the steering arm and also give me a nice lift will this work?

I have done a quick sketch to illustrate.

Why do you want to do a shackle reversal, and you will need to do more than just extend your driveshaft. You need a long spline driveshaft for a front shackle reversal. If not your driveshaft will come apart at full droop, unless you put a short limiting strap keeping the whole axle from unloading. Might want to research this a little more.

Sorry I must have been confusing everyone.

I deffinatley don't want to do a shackle reversal, just want to move the front shackle hanger like 2" back.

Oh and extend all of the spring mounting points down by 2"

Thanks Kelvin

Are the springs that you are wanting to put on in the future longer than the springs you have on it now? If they are shorter I don't see any advantage and if they are longer you must first consider where you want the center of the axle (if you want it in the same place or to move it forward) and then move the hangers accordingly to get the axle where you want it. Still easy enough but just a little more work.

I wouldn't move anything until I had the actual springs that I was going to use. Sure you can make hangers and get stuff ready but I wouldn't put them on until you were ready to put on your new/different springs.

Springs will be original 40 springs I just want to move front hanger back a bit ( axle in stock position) to get a nicer ride and more atticulation.

I will need to drop the hangers to allow this but figure it will give me a nice lift while i'm at it.

I think I had what you want to do. In my expirience don't mess with the hangers. I end up puting them as they came and boght a 2" spring lift. Ride is better as articulation.
