A few more from Top of the World that I had forgotten about on my phone.

On our way down, we met a bunch of "yuuuuge" jeeps on the way up. I think they were surprised we made it on our puny 33s

Nice!

Kind of funny most of the jeeps took the bypass on the way up like we did in that first pic.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a trailer is ok as long as you don't have to back up.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a trailer is ok as long as you don't have to back up.

Backing up these small trailers is s little tricky, but you get the hang of it. I backed up the elephant hill shelf road last year in the dark :steer:

It's also nice to have another rig along without a trailer to scout out side roads and camp sites, so you don't get into a bad place to turn around.

But backing up in deep snow is a solid bastard. The trailer wants to stay in the wrong ruts and gets sidesway right away and the front wheels don't grip and give you the authority to correct. It was 1 step back, 2 steps forward for about a hundred yards.

Travis, are you freaking kidding me?!?!? :( I have been super busy and was going to reply tonight. If it is about the shower I was going to offer up our place for you all to stay on both ends of the trip.

If Travis can't make it the White Rim reservation goes to a club member first. The Kokopelli's leg of the trip does not require reservations and will be the first part of the trip.

@Smakke, shoot me a pm with your number and lets talk. Remember, this is a family trip, not a guys night out trip.

@CO_Hunter so it turns out I had my kids' spring break week totally wrong. And I also missed your response. We just got back Sunday from our spring break which was last week.

We'll be looking for family weekend camping trips all summer. My goal this year is to only be in Denver every other weekend. I'll keep my eyes on the forum, but also add me to any PM list if you guys are planning anything. I'll send you my number and email and stuff. My boys are 4 and 6, soon to be 5 and 7.

Sounds good, got your PM as well. Check out the trip calendar at top of club page here. That and just checking the forum are the best ways to find out about things. Also, there is a meeting April 16.

Just saw a thread in the 80s section indicating that White Rim trail is closed near Labyrinth due to a rock fall - they had to backtrack the whole way.

I was really cutting it to close on meals on spring break, this would have been a hungry day or so! I think we were ok on gas though.

All that backtracking would not have been fun. But then again, an additional night in Canyonlands... :hmm: One could do worse ;)

Our family has been doing spring breaks trip for several years. Going different places and exploring somewhere new. Four years ago others started coming with us. That year was an epic trip running Kokopelli's Trail with Eric and his kids (https://forum.ih8mud.com/co-colorado...-spring-break-2012-kokopellis-trail-trip.html).

New Mexico (Spring Break Trip 2014 March 23 - 27, New Mexico Expo)

Last year Canyonlands Spring Break 2015 - March 21 - 26 - Canyonlands

This year will number 5 so it should be a bit epic and it is looking like Kokopelli's Trail and then into Canyonlands (White Rim). Due to the permits we go no matter the weather. Sounds more adventurous, eh?:steer:

So..I'm gauging interest for this trip. The plan is for a multi-night, family friendly, expo type trip. More of finding out what's over that next hill or around the next bend mentality and a new camp every night. We will try to get in some side hikes checking out Indian art, ruins, old mining stuff etc. The departure date can be early Sat. 19. Return can be variable for those interested in different length trips.

Moab can be a jump off or jump in point on 22th. Full trip returns Friday 25th. Could be subject to slight change if other camp sites open.

Right now it is me, Eric, and Travis for sure with Luke a maybe. I have reservation for three rigs so someone else will need to be a trip leader and there is a possibility we may not all camp together while on White Rim.

I have a pretty good idea of the plan I just need to know how many rigs/people will be going so we can get reservations. Filling fast, even this early.

A little, um, big birdy told to me to look into Kane Creek :hmm:
