Day 6. More driving with incredible scenery, just cannot describe just how big the views are. Found a couple of slot Canyons to play in and around. We actually got our permits checked by a couple of back country rangers who were on their way to camping out. Made it in to camp at the base of Hardscrabble Hill by mid afternoon. We went and checked out the Green River for a bit.

If you look closely kind of in the middle, you can see Chimney rock from the Maze district and last year's trip

Day 7. Left the Park and headed for home. After hearing the weather reports we decided on the southern route, the same as we had done going out. Monarch Pass was not bad at all considering reports from other passes. We made it home just as the snow started to stick last night.

All in all a great trip. I was really surprised by the lack of people we saw on White Rim road, we certainly saw some, but I thought it was going to be more crowded.

Great Pics and nice write up Leon. Looks like a great trip. Hope to make that run myself someday. How did Eric do with the trailer did that present any difficulties? When I go I'll plan on pulling my little off road trailer as the wife likes her camping luxuries.

Thanks, it was epic. The trip is doable with a trailer, I did it as well 4 years ago with mine. I found it more tiring pulling a trailer, just more to think about I guess. Eric did great with it, I'll let him chime in for more.

On another note, I do have a video of the steep, soft sandy crossing of Cisco Wash where I bent my tire carrier a bit. :(

Lol. I remember when we were mocking that thing up, I mentioned having clearances that would account for it getting bent a bit, to which you replied "well, I don't plan on getting that hardcore with my rigs". Haha.

Remember, hardcore is all relative ;) Elephant hill and Rose Garden Hill are about as much as I want. Top of the world wasn't too bad, mostly rocky with ledges and a few tricky spots.

I had to back up in the wash and the tire pushed back against the sand. It's not bad, just have to lift it a little to rest on the pad. I'll see if I can post the video. Not sure how the tire carrier could have been built differently.

Wow.

Looks like a wonderful trip. Sure wish things would have worked out for us. I showed the girls the pics this morning and they talked about it all day. They even asked if we could go again......and if I'd sit on another cactus;). I told the yes....and maybe.

Glad it wasn't too crowded and glad you guys made it home safely before the snow set in.

I've been searching for a trailer (no luck as of yet, but I'm sure I'll find something soon), so next year I'll have no excuses. Wherever the destination may be, count us in.

Cheers!

We missed you too Travis, I know you all would have had fun.

Funny about the cactus. I thought of taking a picture and positing it with Travis' chair as a caption...

Here is the video of Cisco Wash Crossing, hope it works, just signed up to YouTube.

Looked a lot more sketchy from the drivers seat, didn't know how those sandy banks were going to hold up.

Tweaked the tire carrier a bit backing up.

Great writeup Leon - I'm finally getting around to posting some pics!
Had a great trip - the only real hassle with the trailer was getting backed up & turned around when we got stuck in the snow.

Probably out of order
