my 1974 spins the tenths digit, but no more. Anyone have parts to rebuild/replace the unit that I could take off their hands?

Cheers and thanks!

Gummed up it was. More like bonded to the shaft. Full disassembly and rebuild did the trick!

How many hours would you say that took?

At most 2. Fighting to get the gears off the shaft took time so that I didn’t brake anything. Figuring out how to put it back together would have taken less time if I would have taken the time to take pictures. Pretty straight forward overall.

Thank you for that information. I did one, a very long time ago. Long enough to have forgotten.

I have a very large collection of them, and feel like I should take the time to do this with them before offering them for sale.
