Hi Guys,
I need your help. I putting my 76 fj40 back together and I'm having trouble figuring out how the speedo and parking brake cables are supported.
I have a u shaped clamp on the drivers side of the transmission that I assume holds at least one of them.
Other than that there wasn't anything holding them when I took it apart.
Pictures would be a huge plus if you can help...
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Sorry for the bad quality, but this is the only pic I have showing the cables, from what I recall there was only one support, but I could be wrong since it was couple of years ago when I dropped the tranny.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know it there is anything else that holds them except for the retainer on the trans.
I'm concerned that the they may contact the exhaust

I've been looking at pictures in the archives and see where the speedometer cable exits the firewall and goes either to the left of the brake booster on some and others go to the right side of the brake booster.Any idea why ???
Still having a tough time figuring out how the speedo and e brake cable route from the firewall down to the transmission.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I have a clip on the transmission ,so I'll put the speedo cable there.
If it's possible to take a picture of what is on the frame for the e-brake cable???
Thanks again.

BINGO !!!! That's what I was needing... I have those retainers in my stuff I got plated and couldn't figure out what they were for.
Thanks, I really appreciate it .
