Was an open box special.
Free Shipping with Prime.
Made in Indonesia.
I did shear nipple off on existing radiator doing heater valve, but re-tapped and put in brass nipple, no leak.
Put in Attic in anticipation.

I'm sure if you watch you will see more open box specials.
Sometimes they are listed under used, but Amazon always listed as seller.

I'm not sure but I think TYC is just a Koyo as well?

A couple months ago I spoke w/Koyo. They said they 'sell' radiators to several distributors around the world (TYC being one of them off the top of my head). I'd read on Amazon people were ordering the TYC & getting a Koyo. So I ordered & got a true TYC, not a Koyo. It was in a TYC box, had a TYC label on box & TYC label on rad. (so beware when it says it's a TYC because it may really be some other cheap offbrand). Luckily it was damaged in transit so I returned it. Then I ordered a Koyo from CarID off ebay for $177 shipped. It got here & was a real Koyo (in a Koyo box w/Koyo on rad. just like yours). MSRP on a Koyo is about $325 so I still got a good deal. I wrote a thread about the whole ordeal.
Good Deal on Koyo Radiator

Do any of these cheapo radiators hold up as well as OEM? AFAIK my 96 model FZJ-80 still has the original radiator at 339,000 miles.

From the looks of it it's very similar construction to OEM - 2 Row Aluminum with Plastic tanks.

I'd trust Koyo since they appear to be part of the Toyota Family.

I heard somewhere that Toyota owns interest in Sumitomo, Akebono, Denso, AM Brake, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Subaru, Yamaha, etc....
I worked for Honda brake supplier (Nissin) and we were owned by Honda, but it was not publicized so we could do brakes for Harley, Honda, Polaris/Victory, Kubota, Ingersoll Rand/Club Car and others. Harley's are actually full of Japanese parts.

Yes that is correct. That said most of the aftermarket stuff made by Toyota group companies is manufactured offshore. I.e. not in Japan. That there is an important distinction.

In Japan all of the companies have subsidiary family. That either broke off from the family many years ago or have developed enough of a relationship with home company to be a part of. In Japan this is called a keiretsu.

This is also very similar to the domestic manufacturers as well. They all have the companies that were once subsidiaries.

vs. the cheap $177 off brand.

I'm not sure what you are implying. Maybe you misread my post. I got a real Koyo for $177 delivered. If you're laughing at that then laugh away but I think you misunderstood my post.

Six years on my Koyo. No probs.

Ive bought 4 tyc radiators from amazon and recieved 4 koyos. One for the 80, 100, ES, and GS. They are on par with the oem stuff.

Are your end tanks brown? Good luck. Lol
