Speaking of changing plugs and improved fuel consumption.......

I'll check it by hand tomorrow since my routine fI'll up day. I always use the same station and refill at the same time.

A little off topic, but what the heck is up with the low fuel light coming on when I've used 18 gallons of a 24 gallon tank? The "cruising range" can show 1 mile but I know there's another 5+ gallons in the tank. Annoying.

Our 2015 is getting about 14 mpg according to the computer. Not very good but it sees mostly in-town miles and it is hilly where we live.

I get 11 mpg on average with mixed driving and the absolute BEST I will ever get is 16 when on long highway trips. 87 top tier gas.
Is the gasoline in the NE (New York) all that different? I drive the LC like a granny.
I do have the KO2s now but even with the MS2s the gas mileage was never something I was proud to admit.
I just got plugs delivered to eliminate that variable.
Bjowett, sinister? Similar experience up here in NE?

Im usually at 11-12 in the winter months too. I let my truck idol (warm up which affects it too) for 15-20 min at a clip every morning and I have that large Thule box on the roof during this time. In the summer I usually run 13-14 (sometimes 15 if I granny the gas pedal) mpg on average with most of my travels short trips. On long trips ive gotten 19 and change (stock tires though)

Okay, so I was right...some of you guys are using pixie dust and dragon farts.

I get 12.9 - 13.2 MPG around the Charlotte NC area on the dragon farts I can buy here ;)

Lol, not sure. My commute is 95% flat highway with cruise control set at 72. The other 5% is highway with 2 stoplights with cruise control set at 60 a short backroad and a driveway. Cant get any better scenario than that. I run 42psi, all synthetics, took off the roofrack (lost 3mpg with roofrack installed) and dont carry extra weight except basic tools, a rifle + mags, recovery strap and a folding shovel and a roll of TP :)

Next week I might try driving with the mirrors folded just for giggles!

I fill my tank with liberal tears and fairy queefs.

I fill mine up on bourbon every three days.... she's mean!
MS - How exactly does one capture / obtain a fairy queef? - that's the funniest thing I've heard all morning - you are just wrong dude!!!

This may help out - see them every year when headed to river bend (cincy) for the Buffett show

Yeah, here in Greenville I'm usually seeing this:

I don't know anything about it other than a Project 200 YouTube video out of Australia (where I presume he has a different power plant and transmission) but would a torque converter lockup improve mileage?

Aren't plugs good for 120k miles? Difference in MPG can be caused by all kinds of stuff

That is correct. At 115K mine gapped .053ish from a oe .044. about 20% larger that recommended. The plugs would have no doubt made it to 120K as there wasn't any misfiring or anything. Just an unexplained drop in economy.

You have to inhale when you are in the right place at the right time. :hmm:

I can attest to the value of running straight gasoline. I first noticed this on my KLR 650 which has no fuel gauge. I'd say I get 10 to 20 percent more miles per tank with no ethanol. Being somewhat of a tree hugger/green weenie type, I thought it a wonderful idea when I first heard of adding alcohol to fuel. After all, high performance drag cars use it, right? It's a renewable fuel and we can burn less of that nasty old gasoline. Oh brother! I now I think it to be one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Why don't we take our number one food crop which we are already too dependent on, and burn it up on the highway! I don't know if we can ever go back now. It's just been too good the big farming industry. From what I understand it has to do with the energy density being greater in gasoline than alcohol. I'm not against turning corn into ethanol. But around here we have better uses for it. [emoji3] Rant over.

Corn is a horrible source for producing ethanol because corn requires LOTS of resources to grow including water, fertilizer and it depletes the fields. One of the worst government supported programs in the past decade. If they can finally figure out how to make ethanol cheaply from easily grown plants like switchgrass, we might get somewhere.

Switchgrass aloso has extremely high BTUs and could be used as an alternate energy source at coal fired powerplants.

Drove 230 mile round trip this last Saturday. 80% Two lane highways and 20% local streets. I've always run premium and now have about 33k miles on my late build 2011. Avg. 19.8 mpg 60-70 mpg on highway driving, 30-45 local streets. I drive like an old man so no Jack rabbit starts. MPG figured manual, calculation gallons used versus miles driven
