I am planning on putting some speakers in the back of my 60, I don't want them to be down low in the back because I some times have cargo or in some 4x4 situations I've taken on water. So I want to mount them somehwhere up high possibly the roof or the back pillars on either side of the rear hatch. Has anyone here mounted speakers up high somewhere in the back? And if so do they have pics they could post?

here are some good ideas

the pods are kinda large and would make a pretty big blind spot. they arent too cheap either and IMO, plastic just doesnt make good sound. they make those pods with durability in mind, sound quality comes second.

my only suggestion would be to get a pair of those 6x9 prefab boxes shops sell and make a C bracket and mount them vertically on the rear pillars. drill holes in the top and bottom of the box and attach them to the C brackets with bolts using lock nuts so they are just loose enough to rotate. that way you can have them facing into the cab when your driving and turn them to the back when your outside the vehicle

yeah i have no room seeing as i have no high top. But i like the other idea of mounting them on the rear pillars and having them able to pivot to the outside of the truck.
