Can anyone suggest a source for the thin, and very soft, adhesive-backed OEM foam that covers the male end of pretty much every electrical connector used in the LC?

Search "self adhesive closed cell tape".

Closed cell won't absorb water, if your using it in engine bay etc
I bought some stuff very much like this, and it is much too stiff to adhere permanently surrounding a small electrical connector. However, I am sure there is something like this that would work. Have you tried this and it works?

Well! There it is. I wish this oddball stuff was easier to search for.

Thanks!

It’s technically a kit for squeaks and rattles that Toyota developed in conjunction with Nitto, but it’s what we use for all HVAC connections when restoring trucks and all electrical connectors that require foam for sealing the connections.

It’s a smorgasbord of cool NVH adhesive foam and felt for all parts of a vehicle. It’s an awesome kit.

What's it cost?

Who cares? One person’s expensive is another person’s cheap.

Everyone can make the determination of “cost” for themselves. We are all adults here.

As old CDAN has always said, the cost of maintaining an old Land Cruiser to Toyota specifications using OEM parts only gets **more** expensive as time goes on.

That’s an odd response. Could have just posted the price.
