Well, late Jan. we went to Canada in miserable weather to bring these two ugly things home. One will go to make my husband's FJ45 long bed into an HZJ45 with five speeds and one ton full float rear disk. The other will go to a friend to do the same to his FJ60. I guess once these ambitous projects are actually done I will know why we did this. The last pic is of the live blasting cap that managed to get past everyone including customs on the white truck's long journey from the mine to MN. Our hometown sheriff was called to get the proper auth. out to dispose of the explosive, fun fun fun :)

Because you have the same disease that the rest of us do. :)

Why would I want to import a 15 year 70 series cruiser from XXX instead of getting a Heep YJ for nothing and modify the piss out of it?

Those poor Cruisers have led very hard lives. And now in their final moments before death, they will give new life to others by donating their organs..I mean engines. :D Sounds like you guys will have one kick a*s 45 by the time he's done.

Awesome Alex :) The blasting cap would have been some fun ;)

Frankly Im sorry that some Canadian Joe-Bob didnt buy and restore those trucks. There are so few 75's in the Great White North as it is.

I just don't need any craters in my yard, nor do I need to get in trouble with the law for having some fun, and when that thing came tumbling out of the driver side visor the thought of static elec. setting that thing off was chilling, not interested in losing any family members. Sure makes for a good story though, thought of doing something for TT about the whole trip, the weather, I-94 being closed, the tally of 23 cars/semis in the ditch, the Chinese food in Winnipeg, and the barely getting across the border, that was probably the scariest part of the whole ordeal. Then topping it all off being in Tucson in the middle of a deal with a famous Scottish gemologist and getting the cell phone call from Dave wondering where I had the info on the mine the truck came from because the sheriff wanted to let the mine know they had misplaced one of their blasting caps. Well, it made for wild day at the show for me, wish I could have been there when the little bomb squad van showed up late that night or so to retrieve the cap, that would've been cool.

damn, those both look like fun...can't wait until I have some space for a long-term project!!

You know, if it hadn't have been for the manner in which I imported the beasts, and their absolutely piss poor condition, believe me, restoration would be on my mind. I love my solid '95 HZJ75 and would love to have more like it running around. There were four available, one went to Rob Lassman I think?, then the PZJ they could seem to sell, then I got these two. Sounds like they come up quite often, they get sold off by a broker that the mine uses to move them out. But most are torn apart by the mines themselves and they sell the parts off but when they feel the trucks are in good enough shape they sell them whole like these. I really don't think there's enough left of these to restore, not when nicer ones can be had even if for much more money. But, for the restoration hearty, once the engines, trannies, t-cases, and axles have been removed, I plan on dumping the carcasses on eBay for parts....

what years are they? look mid 1990's.........

Let us know before that stuff goes to ebay. I have a fantasy about using a 75 cab to buggy my BJ70. I'm one of those Canadian morons who would consider rebuilding something that rough.

not moronic at all, just brave, and aparently you've got more energy and money than me... gonna be by your way this summer, maybe if the Cruiser gods are really in a generous mood, and if we get off our butts in time and get going on the swap we could even drag one of the remaining carcasses to your door step :)

Alex! Long time...

Hope all is well, and happy project building!
