A flying rock probably did it . . . Lots of them in Kargoorlie :D

After studying it a bit more ,I would say a soft road rollover. Too fast into a corner and the rear loses traction,so when it leaves the road its almost going backwards, hence the cab is bent forward.

Too true about the rockfalls, although something like that would be unusual in an open cut mine.
They may have been lucky being RHD and getting hit on the side, well sort of lucky:D

for the size of the rock that cruiser stood up pretty well, man that would be an eye opener...

I think you ment "man they need a can opener" "D

Whoa, an HDJ79! Buy me that one and crate it up, Ross :)

We get them brand new and LHD to boot. I saw a white one on the lot for several months. It's now sold and there is a grey one there! If you want it badly enough I can drive it up this summer. I've got NO IDEA on the new cost though (I'd guess not less than Q200,000 [Q7.8 = $1 US]).

Are you sure you can get the HDJ79 in Guatemala, Charles? I know you can get the HZJ79, but the turbo diesel pick up is an Oz only item AFAIK. Put me on the list anyway :)

May be possible as a special order. I've never asked, nor have I looked closely at the new pickups. Here many people don't like turbos. When I asked a mechanic the works on teachers cars he said NO ONE here knows how to work on them or how to treat them to obtain a reasonable life span. He was interested in my BJ60 as they have them here too but NO turbos. Because of the abundance of steep hills I always need to let my truck cool before shutdown. There are some turbo-diesels from Toyota though. The '96 '80 series I looked at a week ago had a factory turbo-diesel and five speed.
