Got the CP tagged and insured and drove it to work yesterday. Johnny, that power steering setup is the bees knees! Great job! Drove straight as an arrow. With the rubber overdrive the CP had no trouble running 60-65 down the interstate. It is a smoker, though. Sitting in traffic I could see the clouds blowing past me and I came home smelling like gas. I may have to do the engine swap sooner than I was hoping just to avoid CM poisoning! I haven't done the front shocks yet but I will get to it in the next week or so. I will post pics of the progress. Shaun, I'll get back to you, bud. I will need some help sometime soon, but I'm just not sure when. I want to pull the hardtop off, prep and paint and re-install. Any assistance is always appreciated! My plan for the CP is to fix the rust spots, prep it and give it a flat rattlecan paint job using Krylon flat khaki. Before you throw up in your mouth a little, do a search on the 40/45 tech forum. Several have done this and it looks pretty damn good IMO. Plus, CP was originally dune beige so lots of the interior and engine bay will already match...kinda. I figure I'll do the quickie paint and sort out the mechanical stuff and run the CP for a while. If it behaves it will get a proper paint job as time and money allow. Adam, I tested the Warn 8274 and it lives! Damn those are some tough old winches. I'll probably tear it down, clean it up and re-spool with synthetic line. I've ordered a ton of parts...winch bumper, rear bench seat, etc. Stay tuned..............
