not an expert

Take this for what it is worth. I am not an expert and only relaying what information I have been told. I did have one lv dipped in acid...probably too severe as you lose all coatings/primer in cavities and over time in a moist climate, rust will probably find it. I did just recently have the inside of my 40 tub sandblasted. The blaster told me he doesn't use soda anymore because, unless entirely removed, you can have problems with painting down the road. He was using a Dupont created product called Starblast. He said it won't hold moisture and doesn't have any problems with rust if water isn't introduced to metal prior to priming. Give it a Google and see what you find. I just trusted him and all looks good so far.

Good luck,
Dukes
