Oh, and forgot...Valve Cover/Lifter Inspection Cover/Oil Pan Gaskets

Spotblasting all the rust and get some new paint on the whole car, (winters are salty here and it will look 10 years older each spring) Buy new rear-hatch and tailgate, fix doors for rust... use up my illegal led-paint.:hhmm:. Install new headliner and get some sweet brown leather-seats.

Then : Buy another HJ60 and turn it into a proper offroad-macine..:grinpimp: a rusty one so noboby complains when i hack the rear end off it... no more denting the DD

Happy new year

rustproof & documentation

may be overkill... but...

powerwash and rust-bullet underbody, THEN waxoyl. On interior, pull carpet, rust-bullet THEN sound-proof, replace padding and put carpet back. Photo document the entire thing. I have no rust currently, but I do not want Cleveland winter to ever screw up my truck - so I will document to show it it prevention, not hiding any existing issue...

maybe get my window regulators to work properly... Conan couldn't get the rear windows back up!

anyone see any problems with this resolution? Other than the wife, that is?

Is it bad if your cruiser addiction makes you buy a second car so you can work on your cruiser?

Get it back on the road. Which means:
- finish body work
- steering rod, ps pump bracket
- finish all door latching (replacing all with bear claw)
- lay the dynamat down
- get the windows back in (including find a front windshield - already have all rubber)
- install the new weber 38 sitting in the box and get the dang'd 2F running again
- fix the seat mounting bracket from SOR that doesn't fit right and get those awesome Corbeau seats that have been hanging out in there bolted up good so I don't go flying.
- Take a trip to Canada in it with my sweet wife of almost 20 years by next Thanksgiving.

To say finnish it would be a ridiculous statement b/c I'm not sure it can ever be finished. But I would like to get it running and driving this year, it's been out of commission for a year and half now. The list includes:
-rebuild rear diff. with limited slip
-shock mounts for SOA
-driveshafts, at least lengthen the front one, the rear may be fine
-put the motor back in (4bt)
-Plumb everything.....
-wire everything....
-interior camper setup
.........well at least I've made some progress!

To kiss it, hug it, ohhhh what I want to see happen with it, Simple a/c fixed, paint, new front doors, lift, bumpers, roof rack, mount radio, buy gas, fix interior, win lottery to pay for idea's and maybe just maybe new tires (current ones small but new), and last but not least go camping in it with kids.

First off, great thread. Secondly, the list, and in no particular order;

- Rebuild Knuckles (this one IS first, and very soon).
- Shim front axle (may as well while I'm doing the knuckles).
- Remove chitty window tint and have re-done.
- Finally build the swing-away rear bumper I've been planning for the last year and a half.
- Install stereo. I haven't owned a cassette tape since about 1992.
- Rebuild drivers seat.
- Duraline rockers.
- Sliders.
- Valve adjustment.
- Finish putting motorcycle together that I started rebuilding last year so that I can really tear into the Cruiser without worry of daily transportation (at least during the non-rainy season, which consists of August).

In all honesty, some of these items could also become part of my 2010 Cruiser resolution, as I can only afford small chunks of money at one time, but it's OK to dream right?

its only bad when its another cruiser and you still have to have another vehicle because you are wraped up in 2. or pray you have use of a company vehicle.

Hmmmm, the list:
1) Replace leaking rear main seal and replace clutch while in there.
2) REbuild front knuckles
3) Flush rear diff oil

Ohhhhh I got a new Pertronix ignition kit for the Cruiser for Xmas, wow what a difference and it sorta only drinks fuel now, rather then skulling!

To begin the project.

Well I'm gonna try at least. But first comes painting the engine bay...eww...
