Rick-Amazing you got the doors and not the fender flares.
As much as I hate to admit it, the 80s are the best of the breed. They have everything-range, size, power, robustness, capability off road. I have posted previously that no manufacturer will never make anything like it again. Everything from the FF axles to the amazing flex in the stock suspension is best of class, and still compares favorably 15 years later. 80s just do everything well and if you can only have 1 Land Cruiser, this is the one.
Actually I was climbing a ledge and side slide into that tree. My right side is taking a beating as I'm relying on my peripheral vision, like you would do on road, to pick that stuff up. So given my declining vision with age, I either need to adapt or stop wheeling if I want to stop the damage. Or I could just not give a s***, which looks to be where I'm heading.
They are great trucks and extremely capable in all forms. I was sold on one mid build on my tacoma. Sure its always fun to blast up a climb in a sexy modded out 80 but i just cant get over the looks on peoples faces when we bring the stockers on Michelins thru
Dave it actually was not the 80 it was just my amazing driving skills
after i saw Rick smash the doors in i said no way am i going over that trucks just too new to me and has no sliders... by the way rick we need to rip off those sliders and make some that actually work so you don't trash your doors again they just don't stick out far enough for new england wheeling
X100, this year me and my son have spent hours in that truck and it's brought us much closer. When hge was younger he used to join in with my wife making fun of me and my affection for this truck, not any more.

That is good to hear. I'm hoping my son will share my 80 enthusiasm. My wife used to think all of my mods were pointless wastes of money until she came to an event with me. She actually enjoyed the 80 and wants to attend more events in the future.

I've been able to spend lots of time with my daughters going to interesting places in my truck. I get them to help me with the tools and work on the truck together.
