not necessarily -- if one never uses their center diff lock switch, why bother with lockers, except to be a BSD on IH8MUD?

of course, but in doubt, I would go the conservative route and get the lockers since they are cheap to get installed, hard to add on later, and one may suddenly discover a yearning for more serious wheeling as time goes by. Seems like there are quite a few guys chiming up to say they wish they had waited for one with lockers, but I can't recall hearing from folks saying that they wish they didn't have 'em.
Heck some idiots would get stuck in their yards without lockers, you never know... :D

Show me where in this thread Scott spoke ill of you. I sure as hell don't see it. He just stated what he saw, what he offered, and that you didn't want to sell it for that.

You seem pretty defensive in your post, and go out of your way to throw completely unrelated 'insults' Scott's way. What gives?

and any other IH8MUD newbies that became non-lurkers during this thread.

Also, good luck to Best4x4xfar in your search for an 80. I sincerely hope you find what you want. We'll give you some slack but be forewarned, a repeat of E999999999's "buying experience" (aka The Odyssey) on top of your 'sucker' faux paux in this thread along with Disco ownership could make you an unpopular fella in these parts. :D

too bad I swore never to use the little green guy...
:D
(no, the other one...)

i have just never thought about 'em -- that's just my experience --

-- wheeled cruisers usually demand less of a premium at resale, too, for whatever that means --

-- i'm glad i don't have 'em --

this post is on the verge of being moved to chat --

-- or deleted --

FWIW I just purchased my 30 days of unlimited CARFAX, and I would like to make it worth my 25 bucks. So if you would like one an a prospective vehicle (be reasonable and don't VIN bomb me :D) just PM me the VIN and I can run the thing for ya.

... I was completely straightforward and honest about the history and maintenance of my cruiser...

As far as anyone checking out a cruiser for this guy, don't waste your time, he'll never be satisfied.

I'm not making ANY statements about b.crush at all here, just my experience:

Everyone I've talked to or conversed with has said they told me the truth about the vehcles condition. Sometimes they did, sometimes it was totally rusted out, covered in oil, or the interior was utter crap. Yet the add said "excellent" condition, or they told me no rust or they said there was no oil. Their excuse for it is "well what do you expect from a 7 year old vehicle. Thats BS. If they say "excellent" condition, expect excellent condition. Print them the KBB description of excellent if need be. Half the ones I looked at didn't even fit the Good category.

On that note...

My new Lexus, sign the papers and pick it up tomorrow:

$14,000, everything, better than excellent condition, garaged its whole life, 117K, more than we would have liked, but it really is in great condition:

I have owned Toyota trucks since I was 16 and I have great respect for this forum and its members, but not you. Its not my fault it took you until your mid-30s to figure out Land Cruisers are the best vehicles on the planet. Oh, by the way, I've decided to keep my cruiser and will be enjoying every mile of it. I think I've got some change in my ashtray for that Discovery.

97 FJ80

Gee, thanks for the kind words there Brad. I really don’t think I did anything to warrant that, but you are entitled to your opinion. You said you have decided to keep it, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. You might want to do yourself and others on the road around you a favor though, and consider getting the brakes fixed before you hurt someone with that 5,000+ pound truck..

P.S. – Oh, I could be wrong (Since I haven’t owned Toyotas since I was 16, like you have), but I believe you own a FZJ80, not an FJ80.
