Figured I should do a quick update.

Good to go. All I can say is the 77 is leaps and bounds cooler than an 81. Everything that I want in a cruiser. Way cleaner than I expected. Ride is great for a leaf spring truck. Inspection went great and had a good look over. The person who owned it before me was a maintenance nut who really cared about this truck. Everything was well thought out and tasteful. We figure it was a weekend pavement princess for looks. Skid plates and stuff had not a single scratch. Full maintenance log, service records and jdm manual were in the glove box BONUS! Interior is super clean. Everything was perfect mechanically. You could tell the guy really cared about it. Makes me really happy.
Drives great with the 33s. Bit noisy with a noticeable bumble bee hum but what what more do I expect from some 80% worn out geolander mts. 2200rpm at 100kms/h uncorrected. 255s are going to suit the truck really really nice.
Sorry for the lack of pictures right now.

If anyone has any requests about the rig just ask. I'll do my best to try and answer some questions. I'll post up some shots of it later on.
Already tested out a little earlier. Sway bar quick disconnects make it articulate very nice. I like that feature. I only have flex shots on my iphone.

Radials would probably be better. I have been looking at those but I think I am probably going to stick to 255s. The truck is big enough for my standards.

Hope things all go well for you today and you're driving your new cruiser around the block

Yeah I had fun cruising. Can't wait for work in the morning, I get to drive it again!

This is really one sweet ride you have bought! Hopefully you will go for a black paint scheme for the wheels??

I am not touching those wheels paint wise. I will get something else for either winters or summers. Depends on what i find in a few months or when I buy new tires.

congrats on the rig! guess ur dad didn't sell his BJ yet, eh? hey, i'm looking at getting an auction vehicle too, i'm in BC also... could you tell me which auction you used (i know of a cvouple however your ride is sweeeet!) thx...

Dad hasn't been putting any effort into trying to sell the bj70. Its not going to move if you don't push it.

Stand up guy who goes by the name of Mark.
Mark has an auction program which he pays for and you can search up vehicles that are going through.

i will second that Mark is a step above. i have not had business with him but i have yet to hear a bad thing and the quality of vehicles are very clean.
nice ride there kid, it will treat you well for years to come.

Great looking looking rig bud ,
No sleep for you for a while you will be thinking of the rig to much unless you sleep in it .
Any plans for mods , Proberly not as by the looks of things it's full decked out all ready.

I'm thinking it came with Zeal suspension.
The spring packs are BEEFY.
I have documentation on the springs its all in japanese though.

I need to get some pictures of it shined up soon.
She needs a good wax and wash:)

dude .. that's suuuper sweeet score .. even with sun roof .. that 77 it's just one step away from perfection .. ( coil suspension ) I would keep the sweet sidebars and put some 35" on it ..

Very very cool. Im passing through Port Edward on the easter weekend for some halibut fishing, not sure of the whole schedule but we should meet up, I'd like to see it in person.

Just throw me a P.M. and we can have a chat. I like showing it off.

A note to add. I am really happy about the amount of head room in this truck. Even with a sun roof there is plenty. I am a tall guy at 6'7" and this has way more head room comparing to an 81. I don't feel cramped in it.

And I can see over the steering wheel in mine! :)

Just barely?!:flipoff2:
If you don't have the suspension seat locked on the highest point would passing drivers just see two knuckles and a forehead?

It has been almost two weeks and no more photos...

Congrats man! Beautiful truck!

Camera is acting kind of funny. I will get off my ass and take some shots soon. I only have stuff on my iphone.

Swaybar quick disconnects, WOW. Works great and articulates nice.
Warn xd9000i pulls pretty good. Slow as hell (I have winched out an exploder and a chevy) First time using my snatch block:) I think I might swap motors and put it on an 8274. Apparently they bolt right over.

Seat covers for a 76 series are on order and should be here at the end of May. I'll be writing a review on them.

The usuals have been checked and changed. Running Amsoil in the running gear and its going great. MTG is nice stuff and I will be using it again in the future.

Thursday will be pulling it into the garage and changing all the belts and water pump. I'll try and take some pictures of that. I'll be extending the breathers on the e-lockers, transfercase and diffs up under the hood.
I will be pulling the airbox as well and checking that I have no holes for water to get in.

Rust proofing will take place in June when I have a bit more free time.

Tires will happen in june most likely. I'll be switching to 255/85r/16s.

I did a small trip on it to test it out and give it a pre-run before my longer run down to the island. Drove 80-100kms mainly sticking to 100kms/hr and got 11.5L/100kms. I am sure if I kept it at between 80 and 90 I would have got better.
I checked my speed with the gps and it was spot on with the speedo. It confused me because I have 285/75/16s on the truck and they are measuring kind of small (31 inches) and I am currently running 45psi in them. I think 255s will drop my L/100kms down a bit and give it a taller look.

I have also decided that I am going to start saving to build my own or buy a turbo kit and potentially an water to air intercooler set up. Shes slow on the hills even with 1/2 an aftermarket exhaust and I have been told that turboing it will bring it alive.

Because I was getting bugged for a little picture.
I'll be taking picture with it soon. Bumper blueprints and design are being overlooked and deciding how I want to do this.
