We're good in the snow dept so it's time for a snow run. Assuming the weather holds and it's not brutal cold, let's plan for a snow run on this Saturday, 1/3/15.
Update:
Let's meet up at the closed down gas station 528/550 (AKA North Portal) at 8:45. We'll leave as a group at 9am and head to La Cueva. If any folks from SF are coming, let's meet at La Cueva at 10am.
We can make this into a potluck of sorts, if we like. I'll bring Chili and fixings. Please bring plenty of food, snacks and drinks. I'll bring a bottle of wine
Please plan for the whole day just in case we're having too much fun. Prepare for bad weather and hope for good weather! You'll need the proper recovery gear in your vehicle as well strong recovery points. Please keep the recovery stuff easily accessible and secured so that they don't become airborne.
Chains can always help if you own a pair. Kids should be wearing their ski/snow suits & boots and bring extra clothing, socks, etc in case they get wet. Bring chairs and tarps to sit on. A chainsaw in the group would be a good idea so if you got the room, please bring it!
Our comm will be HAM, 146.460 on 2M. I'll also be monitoring the Megalink repeater. Pocket protectors, not needed but the secret handshake is a must.
If you got dogs, bring them.
