Snorkel install help! (1 Viewer)

Gday guys!!
A couple of days back I purchased a snorkel of my hj61 from RVTEK for about $74aud. It arrived today and looks great - however the template only has 3 hole markings on it which appear to be for the 3 mounting bolts, and the position for the 95mm hole is missing.... It would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a few measurements from their template (ie - top corner of template to hole, bottom corner to hole, distance from last hole centre to centre of 9m hole etc....) hopefully in mm!! Also, should the bottom edge of the template line up with the crease in the guard, or the top edge of the template line up with the top folded edge of the guard?? This may adjust the final position of the snorkel by up to 10mm.... Here are a few photos! Thanks heaps Drew

I had the same, a lot of my pictures here with the measurements:

Mine is flush with the hood and could be a bit lower.
If you lower it please make the same pictures to have this measurement question covered forever!

Replace the bolts as they rust in a few hours.

I do t suppose you have mm measurements for the position of the 95mm hole in relation to other parts of the template? I am without a photocopier, otherwise I would print it out..thanks again - I really appreciate it!

No measurements, I dipped the small thread in paint and drilled that mark, I am very bad in measuring and making stuff right.
Dont ask me to hang a painting, I don't know how I managed to get three kids

The most left (holding my hands in an L shape to see what is left ) small thread touches the water drain so don't use that one, impossible to get to that one!

Thanks again hj60! One more question as I may have missed something from your posts.... From the photo of your template it looks like you are also missing the centre position for the 95mm hole. How did you work out where to drill it without measurements?? It is a big hole to drill in the wrong spot!!!!

I have just finished the install and it looks terrible!! The shape of the snorkel doesn't even go close to matching the angles of the car... I am now wishing I hadn't ordered one in the first place, and if there wasn't a 95mm hole in the front guard the snorkel certainly wouldn't be there..... Will post pics later. Am now going to go and drive through a bonnet-deep puddle just to justify having the piece of crap wrecking the look of my car...........

Before entering the water release the fan/drive belt tension or the blades will snap.

Lucky the car didn't get wet then - would have really made my day!!!
Also, what else needs to be done re: waterproofing? Does the small 'bowl' at the bottom of the air cleaner housing need to be sealed?
I have heard of people making up a hook to prevent the viscous fan from spinning
