Bump - Can anyone confirm or shed light on the Wotefusi install? Got mine in the mail and would like to know if pieces need trimming anywhere? I’ll obviously know during install, just like to be prep’d for unknowns.

Thx

All I trimmed was the snorkel side of the elbow - it needed to be a bit shorter. I think I took off about 3/4", but I did it after shoving the elbow up into the wheel well so I could see how much needed to come off. The way mine fit, the snorkel end of the elbow actually stuck out of the fender hole when I first test fit it, so I took enough off so that the snorkel adapter could actually go inside the fender. I also re-used the original air box scoop to adapt to the air box side of the elbow, which took some trimming but was pretty intuitive.

I was disappointed by the template that came with it as it didn't seem to line up with anything on the actual truck. Mine ended up being about a 1/4" cocked, so it doesn't perfectly line up with the body lines. If you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't know though. If I did it again I would drill the big hole first, then test fit the snorkel up on the a-pillar to make sure everything lined up.

Keep us posted. I am going to order the same one.

That sucked. I have big hands too so the whole process just sucked. I went and bought a longer 13mm just to tighten everything.

I ordered the Lenzdesign snorkel. It just arrived, and it looks like garbage. The inner tube that connects to the airbox and fender does not provide a water tight seal. Hell, it barely even fits. If you tighen it, there are large gaps around the tube. There are small cracks in the fiberglass from moulding. The tube looks like someone molded it by hand with bondo. The layout for the cutting and drilling of the fender is just a piece of cardboard from a box with sharpie written on it. Highly unaccurate. I know most layouts are pretty spotty to begin with, but this one looks like it was made by an 8 year old. Even the mounting hardware was not complete. They didn't provide the screws to mount the pillar shaft to the pillar. Complete garbage. Save your money. I need to try and get mine back.

Sorry to hear. I am going to get the amazon when I decide to order one. I actually prefer the look of the regular snorkel over lenzdesign snorkel.

I agree. I had seen the lenzdesign snorkel one night and showed my wife. I initially thought it was neat. I had a change of heart on liking it, but I found out the wife had ordered it for me for an early Father's day gift. I had to get myself excited again so I wouldn't seem ungrateful.

That’s terrible! Can’t wait to hear if it was the same for the others that installed them.

My inner tube wasn't the nicest looking but the ends were a bit better than yours. I spray painted it black and ran it. The template was the same but other than oversizing 2 of the smaller holes it worked fine. I think any snorkel takes a bit of work to make it fit perfect. I also sealed up that joint with the right stuff silicone to get a good seal

Maybe email them and see if you can get a discount. A little elbow grease and I'm sure itll work well

For $450, it shouldn't involve more work than a $140 Chinese snorkel. I know that using a silicone sealant would work, but the overlap has a massive gap. With a tighter fit, I'd be more comfortable applying some sealant, but I wouldn't trust a seal that wide with preventing water from entering my intake. The inner tube should snap in for this price. The boltable flange is even warped

I just installed my lenzdesign last week and like @Nic it was much nicer looking, but not to the quality what I was expecting. I had ordered it late last year so might be interesting if the quality is degrading. I did email them about the post bracket and never heard back, so I made my own. Also had to buy a 4" x 3.5" intake coupler for the attachment to the airbox.

That said, it's installed and I like it. Put a plastic bag over the intake and the suction collapsed the grill on the intake which I had to then bend back out and paint since some fiberglass broke (more quality concerns). But at least I know it's air tight! (I did use silicone on the install)

edit - also noting I bought a frontrunner slimline II that I hope to fit on this weekend without any modifications. We shall se

Damn that sucks that your quality was poor. I am guessing they are getting popular and their QC has gone downhill. I hope you can get your money back.

That being said, my fit on the connection tube was really spot on. The connection tab was damn near perfect and the tube coupled nicely to the rubber end on my OEM intake. Yes I sealed it all with RTV and have no issues with water getting into it. And my template was very simple but spot on.

A pilar mount did need a couple of self-tapping screws that I had plenty of in the garage. I will say its is not the most refined install kit but I like the design so I rolled with it.

Did you have the snorkel painted or just primed?
