I was programming a Lexus credit card key tonight for my ‘21 LC using TechStream. I have done this before with other vehicles without issue. Everything went well and the new key registered but now none of my fobs will lock/unlock the truck, including the second factory fob. All the keys will start the truck but none of the buttons work. I can even use the fob to change the door unlock (one vs. four) function. It is like the smart key system is deactivated.

What am I missing? What did I screw up?

This exact thing happened to me on a 21. I ended up erasing all the keys but one of them and then adding them back. Once I had erased the other two keys (I have 3 keys in total. 1 CC key and 2 normal key fobs), the remote started working again.

Okay - So you used TechStream to erase all but the master fob and then went through the registration process again. You didn't have to have the fobs that were erased unlocked correct?

I used techstream to erase all but the master. I don't recall the entire process but I'm pretty sure I had all 3 keys with me. You would wave the key by the start button and it would erase the key from the ECU.

I used this video for help:

I have programmed the credit card key without any problems on 21HE (took two minutes). Definitely you will need at least one working to program others. So wouldn't erase all of them at once.

Well I tried erasing all but one key and when I tried to reregister them, I got the following error:

Key code registration failed
The engine can be started (READY ON)
The doors can be locked/unlocked with he mechanical key
Please review "Data List" parameters and follow repair manual.

UPDATE: Dealer had to get involved, somehow the truck got stuck into a reprogram loop. Factory keys had to be reprogrammed to the gateway ECU and steering lock control. One hour labor. Everything back to normal.
