sm420 shifter removal

Hoping someone knows how to remove the shifter on a sm420? I tried removing the pins in the housing but that doesn't seem to be working.

You have to push down on the cup at the base of the shifter and rotate it while pushing, can't remember which way, and the cup and shifter should come right out.

My SM465 is Counter Clockwise to remove. Takes some pretty good downward pressure but it should come right out.
