Nice job

Installed a big ass RV battery in the front dead space in front of the right wheel well today.

So is the inverter working the way its supposed to now?

That is awesome! never seen someone redo an old camper that well. great job!!

I found out the big ass converter under the fuse box is just a converter. It changes shore 110 or gen 110 to 12V. I ordered a 1000W inverter yesterday.

Sealed up everything. Bought a nice mattress topper and made the bed. Should be all ready by Redbird.

So do you like to spoon or be spooned?

NICE JOB!!!! with the 1st Gen rig ya have there .........gotta love the last of the REAL Dodge rams, i my self have a 92 D150 extra cab short bed ...currently with a bad 318 5.2L 1st generation magnum (lesson learned never take it to brake masters while having them fix my brakes and have them decide to do an oil change and wound up putting too thin of a grade .when i asked for 10w-40 a week later i blew a ring .so she now waits (4yrs) until i can get teh time and money to open her up and give her a proper upgrade/rebuild.

also great job on the camper

That is an awesome setup. Do you mind posting how much this whole build cost was in materials? Your bro has some serious camper building skills.

He won't say exactly, but he says he has about $1500 in it. Mostly the fridge ($800) the TV and DVD player, the power center and the microwave.

My guess is the metal, interior walls, rubber roof, rear door, windows, and cabinets could add another $1500 pretty easily.

He gets it all for whatever it costs a major manufacturer to buy.

Outfitted it this afternoon for the escape from work tomorrow for the first camper wheeling trip. 6 hour drive will be a good test for the Dodge.

Coffee maker, filters and coffee - check
Good collection of sophomoric humor DVDs - check
Good campfire music CDs - check
RC crawler - check
Fridge full of beer, mixers, brats and burgers - check
liquor cabinet full - check
Microwave popcorn and late night frozen burritos - check.

tent, air matress and sleeping bag - Hell, no.

I think I'm gonna like camper camping.

Just back from the virgin run.

Camper camping is the only way to go. The longest part of the set up was moving the TV from inside to outside. That took about 30 seconds. Sleeping in a real bed is great.

The microwave didn't work. The coffee maker was way too small. Perfect for me, but not nearly enough for the whole camp. The fridge doesn't work well in 12V mode, but I've since found out what the problem is. Everything else was great.

Towed well. Even in very high side winds on the way back. About 13 mpg on the way down in a head wind. 15.3 on the way back with a tail wind. Trans temp stayed below 150 except on hard pulls up hills from a stop. Never came up in OD at all.

The drive train is amazing. The rest of the truck is a Dodge product. It lost the headlights and running lights on the way down. That was interesting in the middle of nowhere.
