Has anyone who sleeps in their 100 series made curtains/anything to cover the windows? I don't sleep in my car routinely but have determined I would like the privacy/darkness that window coverings would provide. I'm going back and forth between making cardboard templates to cover the rear windows or building a frame out of pvc pipe, hanging it form the grab handles and then throwing sheets over the pvc frame. Was curious what, if anything, other folks have done? Again, this is really a once or twice a year sort of thing so I don't need anything permanent.

I bought and cut up some of those accordion style reflective windshield screens to fit all the windows. I added suction cups to make sure the screens stay in place. Blacks out the interior which is nice, and keeps the truck cooler, even a bit more quiet. To peek out, just lift up a corner. When I remove them, they fold up just like originally intended and stow away wherever. Simple and quick.

I've seen curtains on other 100s and found them to be an annoyance while driving and/or way too much work to set up.

Zip-tie tent poles across all the grab handles. Instant side curtain hangers.

This is the best idea I see. You can find the bubble wrap mylar sheet at most good supply houses or fabric stores. I would make a paper or cardboard template and attach the insulated sheets up with suction cups or velcro dots. It'll get the cruiser dark for sure, and it will cool it down significantly. My local hardware store sells the stuff by the linear foot. I bet you could do the whole truck for $30.

Limo tint the back, then no need for curtains.

Perro can you post some pixs?

Thnx

I've slept in my truck all over the Americas. Window tint on the back windows, sunshade on the windshield works great. If it's cold or humid you need to crack a few windows or the windows will be all fogged up in the morning. If there's lots of bugs make a screen cover out of plastic dog proof door screen to keep the bugs out of your truck.

Thanks Perro

a role of reflectix from home depot/lowes and cut to windows. secure panels with suction cups and sleep warmer. very common for van dwellers and urban campers.

Some pics...

Probably could have done a more precise job cutting the top of this one...

Left the little elastic straps on so that I could fold the screens and strap them all together in a bundle for storage. In this case, there's a small gap from the rounded edge, but I consider that a feature, not a mistake...Think of it like that little peephole on your front door.

Pic below is with drivers side doors open. <obvious> Gets significantly darker with the doors closed. </obvious>

My 100 isn't a daily driver, so the screens also serve a purpose in my driveway and the San Diego sun.

I have heatshields all around for my rig. They didn't have the wing or middle passenger windows as their database indicated so I drove up to their shop last summer to have them measure my rig and make them.

You can thank me for my contribution with beer money. Pics to come at some point ;)

did they say when they'd have the other side windows available for sale?
