Installing the Slee second battery kit and this thing is in the way. It says it is hot to the touch so figure where it is relocated to is important so as not to melt anything, or worse yet start a fire. Not sure what it is.

Any idea on what it is and where best to relocate?

Thanks

Both of my 06's have this box.

For what its worth this box has nothing to do with HID.

I have the same thing in my 03 LX. I installed a small ARB compressor and flipped this thing (whatever it is) 180deg. thinking it might be in the way. It wasn't. Not at all. Try that and report back. I have a Slee second battery kit to install, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get around to doing it...
I hope my second battery AND compressor both fit there...

Thanks everyone. Going to try and work more on it this evening. If I don't get to it today, it may be a few days before I can report back. But I'll definitely circle back and update on what I do to relocate it.

Really do appreciate the feedback. I definitely get more out of this forum than I contribute. Hopefully that will change as I become more familiar with the 100 series. Thanks again.

Brett - is that a automotive platinum for the aux battery and a marine for the main battery? Isn't that backwards?

Sears is playing name games. They're are the same type of battery... Just marketed differently.

Looks like I was confused. I thought that the DHPMarine was better suited for multiple deep discharges i.e. a house battery application and that the DHPAuto had higher CCA and was better for a main/starting battery. After some further research, it looks like you guys are correct and that they are the exact same battery just with different terminals.

The first 20 or so posts: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/118232-Sears-Diehard-Differences

Incidentally, looking at the connections on Brett's aux battery in the photos above, I don't think it matters what type he is using ;)

Sorry, fat thumb.....

Relocating there would probably work on mine, but there is already something (OEM) using those bolt holes. Not sure what it is either.

Just curious, I don't see in the pics where you relocated the power steering fluid reservoir.

I've spent a pretty good amount of time looking for a location to relocate this thing (whatever it is) without drilling additional holes. No luck so far. There's not enough slack in the wire harness to move it very far from its current location. I may just remove, install the battery tray, then see if I can modify the tray to hold it.

Here's the culprit, again.
