So I've been saving up for a lift and a few other goodies. I'm almost there and have begun my search as to what suspension I want to get and so far the Slee 6" is looking pretty good. I want to be able to clear 37s although I'm probably going to run 35's for now. Any input on the Slee or other "big lift" options are greatly appreciated!

If you go anywhere else but where you have mentioned, you may only get what you have coming ;)

I doubt you will find anywhere with better equipment, better parts, or more knowledge than slee for your 80.

I totally agree with both fellas. I think shed must be getting some kind of kick-back from that comment. Slee is really the only logical choice.

37's and a 6 inch lift is going to make your vehicle really tall. That could be 8-11 inches depending on what size tires you are running now. I would make sure thats what you want. You could do a 2 inch lift and 35's using slee's lift. Christo could give you the specifics.

Anyway at some point lift clearance is not the only issue. Wheel well size is.

SAWZALL!!! :D

PKP80,
I have Slee's 6" kit w/ MTR 315/75R16 on 16x10s and I am very satisfied; very beefy! :D

I've got 35's on Slee's 6" lift, no problems what-so-ever. 37's didn't quite fit, although that was probably because of the rims they were on. . . 15x10 w/3.5" backspacing. All they did was rub the front valance, but I never really got to "flex" test it.

Too SLEE

Thanx for the info Keep it coming.
Slee the 6" claims to clear 37's with no problem, so what are the others saying as far as wheel well clearance is concerned? I"d sa to body lift it but I think that that would be a bad idea on top of the 6". I find that a body lift is not the best thing to do to a cruiser in general b/c of the way it rolls.

PKP,
The Slee six-inch kit will allow you to fit 37s under the truck. BUT you have to drop the bump stops to keep those big tires from chewing your wheel wells. This means that you gain an extra inch under your diffs, but you lose some articulation (unless you want to solve the contradiction with a sawzall).
I run the 35" TrXus under the six inch kit. It's a true 35. I like the set up for the terrain I wheel in. I can completely stuff the 35s and I don't think you could keep the same up-travel with a larger tire.
Make sure you know what your're getting yourself into. With 6" of lift and 35" (or bigger) tires an 80 becomes a rather large truck and a rather tall one at that. Off camber situations increase the pucker factor a bit. At that height, everyone at Slee's shop recommend widening out the track as well (wheel spacers, less backspacing or wider rims)

i run the slee six inch spring as well..... i have used spacers up front on and off.. still undecided... withspacers i have never rubbed up front..... in the rear you will rub when you get in really twisty places...... I do run a different shock set up also so i have as much up and down as the springs can currinently handl.......oh...and its TALL..... you will need to have an other than stock rim or wheel spacers if you want to even consider anythng off camber..... ITS TALL...

<SAWZALL!!! >
You don't need a sawzall. Now that the TuRD has 285X75x16 meats on it, the fenders rubbed.
I got out the sludge hammer and ....... now the doors rub on the fenders when I open them.
