Slave Cylinder Question

Okay so I am in the process of putting my slave cylinder back on, and I can't get the dang thing to fit. If I put the rod in the clutch fork, the holes on the cylinder are about 2 inches away from lining up. If I adjust the nut on the rod I still don't think it will give me enough clearance.

Whats wrong with it?

Have you compared the length of the rod on the new one to the old one? I ran into something like this and had to re-use the old rod which was shorter and all worked fine.

I didn't replace the cylinder which is why I'm frustrated with it. It doesn't make any sense haha

Be carefull..but try to push the rod into the slave with the master reservoir cap off...you might have to open the bleeder valve.
If that doesn't work check the free play in the clutch pedal...maybe it's putting pressure on the slave...?

I will try that tomorrow

I had the engine out for a rebuild so the slave was just chilling on the car. Probably should have taken a picture before I took it off cause i have no clue where it was adjusted.

If you just removed the slave and did not disconnect the hose, you have pressure on the back side of the slave. Open the bleeder and let some fluid out, where you can move the rod to the rear enough to allow for mounting the slave. You'll then have to go back and bleed the slave cylinder.

What Elbert said -- Just push the rod in, and this may require a little oooomph ...

That's to funny!...sounds like something I would do! Nothing like a good night sleep and a fresh start.
