Thanks mate! From that picture, your not missing anything.
Negative, mine has the same gaping hole leading to what appears to be a plastic pan.
Some report upwards of 1-2 MPG increase when installed.Removed mine for lift kit. Have been lazy and have not put back on. Is it needed?
Sounds about right. I removed my oem "skid plates" and drove around town for a few days and some on the highway and MPG definitely went down. Then I installed Dissent skid plates and MPG is back to normal. Some report upwards of 1-2 MPG increase when installed.

Yes sir. Skid plates help with mileage.Guess what I'll be doing tonight?

Makes sense. The amount of wake turbulence (drag) created under a vehicle is staggering. We had a hybrid car years ago that had underbody panels that covered almost everything. Drag coefficient was .25 compared to most passenger cars (which have exposed underbody) in excess of .35. With our lifted rigs and countless areas that could induce drag, I would imagine that skids would reduce that drag and increase mileage by a good margin. 1-2mpg increase is basically an 8-12% improvement for me. That's NOT insignificant. Now, I just need to save some $$$ for those damn sexy Dissent skids![]()
