Six inch lift is a little different than 2" or for some I think are coming stock height. I've heard from others that 4" may be a good minimum for John Bull.

Aw come on (bunch of pu--ies) if this stock Ford Ranger can do it...

Meow...thats what I say. :D
No I wouldnt want to go through it with my stocker. ;p

EDIT: The John Bull is not that bad but the last time I ran it I had 6" lift, 35's, ARB's, dual t-cases etc...:flipoff2:

Sorry Brent I edited it how it should have read, I forgot the sarcasm. :D

Bluto, that is a Ford and a Ranger at that. Of course it got hurt, I hear the trail has much more respect for Toyota's especially 80 series Land Cruisers. ;) Also Bluto you are a treasure trove of pictures and info.

From there I was thinking we could tackle the John Bull trail and select something milder and split some off if there is an interest.

For the record, I was thinking of the others. I wanted to offer the John Bull for those who want to run it and set something up for those who don't. I wouldn't want to run it in a stock 80 either and I am questioning my sanity for wanting to run it with Heavies and 275's. I just wish they would wear out so my :princess: would let me get some 315's. I have no problem with doing a different trail so all can stick together. We are there to enjoy each others company not prove our bravado. I am going to whip out the map and do some more looking.

Yeah c'mon Brent, you gonna let a :princess: in a stock Ranger show you up?

Yeah, me too.

I really don't give a shiat about a stock POS Ford. I'm out to enjoy the weekend of friendship and camping. I've got absolutely nothing to prove to anyone. Period.

anybody going up from the San Diego area?

LOL! I'm just a LITTLE concerned about the tendencies you are exhibiting here tho Kevin. :flipoff2:

All I can say is... if youre stuck at home with a pregnant wife and 2 kids, youre going to find something good or useless to do in the house. ;)

As for the Ford Ranger and post, I just put it up here for chuckles. :D
Who knows he might have sustained more than rocker damage with closer inspection. Replacement parts for the Ford is cheaper right? ;) :D
Maybe I shouldve gotten a Ford instead...Naw!

Almost forgot. Brent and I are leaving early Sat am from Orange County if you want to meet here or at the 15 and 91 you are welcome to caravan with us.

It will be me and two other vehicles leaving Saturday morning as well. So we call all hook up and go together if you guys want. Also what is up on the potluck for Saturday night is this still on?

is there a decent supermarket in Green Valley or Big Bear?

There's a Vons in Big Bear at 42170 Big Bear Blvd, closest x-street is Sandelwood. I'm not sure about Green Valley.

Just a little market in Green Valley Lake.

OK, so what's the latest on what trails you guys are planning to do?

...

Ditto.

Have we decided on a meeting place and time for the trail run(s). Im asking because there is a good chance (last minute) Ill be there for it and go home right afterwards. I have a CB and if were going by dates - 16 for Fri and 17 for Sat, Correct?

Since everyone seems to be leaving sometime Fri this might be the last post on this subject.

Thanks.

Still not sure if I can make it but sure will try. If I can I'll probably be there Fri eve. Haven't reserved a spot yet -and may be too late. That a problem?

No real CB here. Can somebody with CB take an FRS / GMRS unit along? Channel?

I'll take the kids. Any other 10-15 y.o. range kiddos (not boys dangit:D ) ?

Yes on both. We need to pick a departure time and set up a meeting place for the trip up. The pot luck is still on as far as I know. I will be bringing tri tip and a big ceaser salad. Can anyone cook the tri tip as I will be off my feet for the most part?

How about 6:30 - 7:00 meeting at Green River RD off the 91? Easy on/off and gas in case anyone needs it. If anyone knows any where better please throw it out.

Gotta go. I will check back later.

Meeting place sounds good for Sat Morning - I may still try to bug out Friday evening. I'll call you if I do Mo.

OK, latest on spaces:

- all reservable sites are reserved at Crabs

- there are 5 non-reservable sites but can't tell if occupied or not

not good for those of us winging it...

other campgrounds nearby? dang... no, nothing available apparently
