I think I'm gonna fry some bacon on the stove and boil over a pot of beans then I'm gonna make lantern hook off of the front of my new bumper and use the lantern for a rock light!
I like the propane for wheelin' and its small. I have a propane light with a broken glass already, so that makes 2 I need to buy.

you did very well. Nice combo.
what model are the stove and lantern?
I'm 'breaking' in a NIB unfired 413G (3/76) two burner this weekend. Decided I deserved a brand new Coleman stove.

We'll have to compare.....lanterns! I think I have the exact same one. Mine has a paint chip though. :( I think I share some genes with Russ though, something about that clean Coleman green just looks cool. I picked up a small black Coleman dual mantle that has a wire screen instead of glass. I'll test it when I can afford a can of white gas.

I'm thinking of sealing with JB weld the brass "nozzle" which supplies the correct amount of propane to an old 1960's bernzomatic TX-750 lantern I have. Someone drilled the hole way too big with a drill bit. The nozzle itself is not close to the high temperatures of the single mantle, it is located behind the heat sink where the propane bottle is. Needless to say I'm sure it still gets pretty warm/hot when the lantern is on. My plan is to seal it shut and pierce it with something much smaller like a wire from a wire brush before it completely hardens. Russ gave me some links and I have some inquiries about replacing the nozzle if parts can still be had but if not what do you think- will JB weld stand up to that kind of heat??

After passing through the nozzle the brass tube travels down about 3" and then inwards about 3" before it reaches the mantle itself.

Went swimming yesterday out in the IV and wish I could go back + some 4x'in. I worked today and work tomorrow. Its good to have a job tho'.

I was thinking of Deer Creek tomorrow, maybe. Where were you swimming?? It'll be a busy HWY tomorrow. Maybe I'll stay home and be safe. I would like a good swim though.;)

Swam @ swinging bridge- road had 1 lane w/cars on both sides in some spots.. The lower parking lot was full but folks were pretty well spread out. It wasn't too crazy but we left around 4 pm.

In Costa Rica for a week. This place is Toyota heaven! So far spotted a fj45, fj43, several 40's, bj40's, prado's, 60's, several 70's and a bunch of new ones. Our rental is a 4 Cylinder turbo diesel fortuner and I've already taken it wheeling.
Oddly enough I've seen a ton of Land Rover too. A bunch of really old ones all the way up to defender 90's and some crew cab trucks and the huge 4 door suv's.

Went from the rain forest to the beach and saw 4 45 pickups on the way, only one with the original bed. All the government vehicles are 70 series trucks or 2 door suv's. Tons of 40's on every side street. This place is sweet. So much better than Mexico. And Chris, it rains so much here you can drink the water. Sitting at a beach front brewery now eating lunch. Coming home manana. Cruiser heaven!
