I'm with you guys on this. The only way I would get another 80 is if it was locked, clean(important) and affordable, luckily not in a hurry to replace it. I still have the Zuk, but trying to keep it nice as a little run about but a simple go play in the woods car. Deciding if I really need a 'Wheeler' or just a putter around the woods car right now since that's what I am really enjoying lately.

My only worry is I know what happens to nice vehicles once I get the wheeling bug again. Thanks for the sensible input! Whatever happens, happens. Worse case I will be stuck with the Diesel and tinker my way through it when the time comes.

I agree with g-knob. Sell the 80 for more than it is worth ("Ooooh! It's a diesel!"), buy a 100 and find something light to beat on. That can either be the Tracker or sell the Tracker for a mini-truck or Sammi.

As for the 100, all you need to do is throw some 33's on it. My 100 is still one of (if not THE) the best vehicles I have ever owned.

Hmmmmm. Buy that RX300; lock and sas it with knobbies.

:grinpimp:

I think you're on to something ty.... Maybe we need our clubs first trar! I'm thinking a 1985 Toyota Tercel wagon on 38's! I do have that supra shell sitting in the side yard. It's a targa top and already has engine mounts for a 7mgte!

I'm thinking the same on the 100; 33's, sliders, bumpers, and a locker if it is a 98 or 99. There is a couple we might go look at in a couple of weeks down south just to see and drive.

Then it will be downhill for the tracker :smokin:

Yes!! Or an old Gen 1 or 2 Brat with the T-Tops? AMC Eagle?? Plus G has a nice new garage, and has pretty much invited this project into it

I would recommend a 2000+. The ATRAC is amazing once you get used to it and it comes with the stronger carrier.

I remember watching yours work and was blown away with how well it did on Tue McGrew, that's part of the reason I started to look at then. Has just snowballed from there these past days.

Didn't know that about the carrier, will have to expand my search a little more.

Hmmm.. I would say that selling as a whole would get you the most money. I think a running isuzu motor is worth more than you have it listed for, you just need to wait for the right buyer, the adapter alone is $$. Shiny sheet metal is the money maker, the diesel is next. I haven't seen the 80's popping up cheap lately. So I think it might be a good time to sell. Sometimes a fresh vision does a lot for motivation. What you do next is totally your call and if it is a civilized 4x4 then I won't look down on ya! Its a tough call. I still have a couple of swap ideas but hope I can finish what I've started!

Yeah, the 98 - 99 are only a good choice if you are planning on adding an ARB to the front... Slee Offroad has a good buyers guide for the 100.

The Illinois at $8 bridge this afternoon. Was a neat day down there!

Did you notice whether the road to Deer Creek was blocked off? FS told me the road adjacent the bathrooms by the bridge was closed permanently. Don't know is she meant the one RIGHT by the toilets or the one we use to get into the Deer Creek area.

Nice pic! That's the highest I've seen it. Gonna head down there tomorrow.

Awesome, that will scour out the swimming holes.

Cant wait for summer swimming and camping down there!!

Gates on both sides of the bridge are open. And no signs of the 'regular' road being closed either.

Wow... Talk about a misquote! You are as bad as Obama's media, G-knob... Pirate was actually being respectful for a 100-Series, I think that is history in the making! If anyone is interested, there are some pretty cool pics on Nolan's thread on Pirate: Big Bend January 2016 - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum
