Look really nice... what size tires? lifted?

The 40 has an old (like 15 years old) Old Man Emu 2.5" lift, but the springs have flattened and it's probably more like a 1" lift now. Tires are BFG AT's, 33x10.50 on my old FJ62 chrome wheels. Here's a couple of side shots where the tires don't look as big.

Were you going put the "step" back on each side or did you have plans for sliders?

I'm assuming your plan is to put the swing out bumper on the rear now?

The truck did not have running boards when I bought it. I was told the original owner took them off and trimmed 3" from the outer rocker panels in order to fit sliders. We replaced the rocker panels so the truck is back to original configuration. I did buy a new set of OEM style running boards from Real Steel. Will install them later and revert to an old style look.

Yes to the bumper. The old tire carrier was destroyed in the wreck. 4+ bumper with swingout carrier will take its place. Then I'll be just like your cuz. ;)

I hate to see this thread fall to the bottom, so here's an inspiring pic of Hugh Heiffer's '71 40 and M16, swiped from the Red 40 thread. This will have to do, until Kelly makes his next move. ;)

I was at Stan's this past Wednesday, most of your stuff looked to be done almost. Went up to pick the roll bar up, thank you again for it : ).

Lee, did you get my email??

Are the sill wars over? Who won?

Kelly won the sill wars. At least round one. Didn't you attend his victory celebration a couple of weeks ago? Tucker and I may have a shot at winning round 2. Stay tuned. The fat lady ain't singing yet.

Did he show you how to spray the paint on, or have you done it before? How hard was it to get a good finish?

I have not painted yet due to my Dad's passing. We finally wrapped up the memorial and now the holidays are upon us. I will be back from snowboarding in mid January and then will hit it hard.

I have limited painting experience, but everything I have done has turned out well in the past. I have a friend that is a professional who I might get to help. Let me know the progress of your truck and your plans/ timing. You might be able to check out the facilities and process while I do mine. I still need to prep the front and rear doors as well as top for paint before I shoot everything.

Keep in mind, I have dropped about 350 on paint and prep supplies excluding the price of a gun.

Lee,

Great looking for 40

Thanks man. It's still in Oklahoma City, waiting for me to hook up electricals and install the interior. Hope to have it done and back here soon.
