Can anyone please tell me which would the the correct side markers to fit back onto Jade. When I bought her there were none fitted however the holes are there. Upon going through my bits and pieces I located these round ones and the bolt holes line up with the original holes in the side of the vehicle. However if you have a close look at the back of the reflector you will see that where the bolts come through it is slightly raised which means that the reflector does not sit flush against the body. I have also seen rectangular (like fitted on the green one below) fitted but they all appear to have wiring coming out of them. This is so confusing

Do you have holes in the apron? 71 didn't have side reflectors. Those reflectors went in the bumpers i think

Only holes to bolt them on no holes to run cabling through and the holes appear too low compare to the other pic of the green one I posted.

Your jade is special remember... It's not an American import ... It was a CKD

The holes are off where they normally go... They would be higher... There should be Amber in front and red in rear on both sides and two more in back... Red

Here is a pic of earlier cruiser with the reflectors

You got it on one JohnnyC but the question now is what do I put there seeing as I am trying to keep her as original as possible. Would it look better with the round or rectangular reflectors or just silly with them being down so low.

US market 68-73 had red reflectors on the rear frame member just inside the red tail lights just before the bumperettes. Last I heard those were still available new from Toyota. Only difference with these is the studs were longer which wouldn't effect using them on the sides. 68 And 69 US market had amber reflectors on the aprons. Those are NLA.

DOT standards changed from side reflectors to lighted markers on the sides. The green '40 in the first post has the stock configuration.

The round reflector is for the rear frame, which was likely another DOT standard, just inside the brake light. Once again, the green '40 has the rear reflector.

To keep stock, nothing should be done there. Maybe someone could suggest something innocuous to fill the holes, maybe just some small screws with plaster washers to keep the rust away.

I remember you had the reflectors next to the bumperettes as well as the amber tail lights added for import... and think i remember seeing the clear front marker lights at some point on yours?

You have an odd ball cruiser :) ... different than the norm... originally mounted low ... soooo your call :)

do you have the amber reflectors on the approns like LITP mentioned?

here are pics of those lil chrome clear lights as well for you... they are stock

Cheers all I have the reflectors for the rear bumper but now need to work out what I am going to do with the side. I dont really like the idea of trying to fill the hole as that would mean resanding and painting. This is what I had when I bought her. Even the rear indicator lights I believe are not factory but were just added to make it ADR compliant for Australia.

While we are on the subject of this. What is the go with seatbelts for this year. Again when I go her there were none fitted.

Maybe just another oddball thing.

Yeah JohnnyC I have the front amber indicator lights for the front apron as well as the small oval parking lights for on the front of the chassis. Over time I will replace all of them for new ones but at this stage I am just going to get her up and running.

Here are the front parking lights I have.

yep those little lights .... are not common... another odd ball thing that was only for a short time ... they show up in mid 73- mid 74'... but also in 72' parts manual... so probably 71ish-2/74

more about the chrome lights here:

BTW cherish them.... i dought you can get them new

Mystery solved after looking back through a few bits and pieces I have found that there is a bracket on the inside of the wheel arch which also attaches to the tub for a mud flap bracket.
