Alright guys, 91 TLC with 275k on the clock, making all kinds of frigging noise. Just did the recommended tune up except the EGR valve (no longer made or available). New tires. Fixed some vacuum lines. Still have a rough idle when warm. Strong smell of gas which I'm told is probably the charcoil cannister. And a weird ping sound coming from transfer case. Heads cracked, so I found a new head that's going to the machine shop tomorrow.

Anyways, hope to get this puppy reliable so I can take some trips with it!

I was going to suggest egr delete, but I see you are in California. Best thing I've done to my '92 so far.

Where do you guys score vacuum lines? I need to replace all of them

Some swear by silicone: boostcontroller.com

Some swear by OEM: Toyota sells them in chunks

But your local auto parts store has some in bulk that will likely do the trick.

In all likelihood, it's probably an injector and 02 sensor

Alright, so my alternator is totally dead, should I be looking at a higher amp alternator over stock at this point or just throw a regular one in there. It's 50/50 that I install a compressor later on.

If you're planning on adding a bunch of electrical load to the system (winch, refrigerator, OBA, amps, etc.) now's the time to upgrade. If not, stick with stock and be done with it...
