This is after the 1/4" slip on adapters / spacers. I don't think I'll have a problem now. I swapped the front tires to the back and the guy at the tire store said he thought they would be fine.

There isn't a one size fits all when it comes to what fits.

I am running 315/75R16 Goodyear Fierce Attitudes with no spacers and the only UCA rubbing I get is when I'm aired down. The tires are fine and it didn't gouge it like 10ga had happen.

I don't want to run 1.25" spacers because my 35s won't fit anymore.

@10ga BFG tend to run smaller for future reference.

The PO of my rig was running BFG KO 315/75R16 tires, I bought a new set of General Grabber AT2 in the same size last week and look what I found yesterday. Some serious rubbing at the bottom of the upper control arm / steering knuckle that's probably cut into the sidewall maybe a 1/64 of an inch. I'm guessing the General tire is bigger? I just hope I don't have to go buy 2 new tires after driving maybe 200 miles. I don't really want to run bolt on spacers, do you think some 1/4" slip on spacers will cure it?

you should really consider some bolt on spacers. I have 1.5'' and it sets the wheel out almost perfectly flush with the fender for a very nice look and gives you plenty of space between the UCA and the tire. People are always sketchy on running wheel spacers, but I have used them on at least 3 previous vehicles and never had a problem. As an additional safety precaution I do put lock tight on the inner lugs / nuts to secure them from loosening. I think with a 1/4'' spacer ring you are still too close to the UCA and then you are using 1/4'' less of lug thread to tighten the wheel.

I've used spidertrax spacers on my last 80 and 100, nothing wrong with the spacers, but when you're on uneven surfaces, the tires won't be able to travel up into the wheel well without hitting the lip on the fender. At least that was what I experienced

That is what holds me back. I want useable wheel travel. I don't want to add bump stops I have a wider stance.

I am still learning about tire sizes and fitments...can you help me understand why you needed spacers? Is it that these lift/wheel/tire combo that you have resulted in rubbing or limited ability to turn wheel? Or are the spacers added for some other reason? I love the look you have - I went with a modest 275/65/18 as my first upgrade pre-lift and armor and am now looking to go bigger on tires. Thanks!
usually the wheels are the problem. I even had the manufacturer tell me that the wheels fit my 100, but they didn't. So they sent me free spacers to fix the problem. Even with lift & spacers, I had to cut the bumper and running boards to fit 35s.

Too bad that sounds like a pain, but thanks for info. May save me some trouble in the future.

I fitted Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrains lately. We still had these tires laying around, so I thought why not try 35". The size of the tires is 325/60-18 on Tundra steelies. But even with 30mm spacers and the mud flaps removed there is still some slight rubbing on full lock.

Dutchcruiser - that looks great! Proper ground pounder. Make them 325s work!

Bringing this thread back from the past...

For all the folks who don't have a rear bumper with a tire carrier (about 50% of people posting here) - what do you do with your spare tire? Looks like some of you guys are doing quite a bit of offroading - are you all just rolling the dice and going out without a spare?

If you are wheeling at all, you need to bring a spare tire. I am guessing they keep inside the truck. No spare at all does not seem like a good idea in the slightest.

My spare is mismatched to fit underneath whenever going without would be an unacceptable risk. Obviously using a mismatched tire would be an emergency only solution, but until I get around to the rear bumper its the best safeguard I can come up with.

My LX is my daily, and I don't carry a spare around the city. I do however have a patch kit, and a compressor, and a aaa card, and a cell phone, etc etc etc.

Perhaps if you don't go solo into remote areas you could get away without one, but agree that it sounds like a terrible idea.

redman333 - you getting ready for a hurricane?

Anyone have the links to fender flares for my hundy? I have 35" tires sticking out about 0.75 inch to 1 inch. I now understand why I did not want to have to put spacers on my wheels. Thank you, Fuel, for mislabeling my 18" wheels as compatible for 100s. :-/ TY!

I have been really itching for some 35's....... Currently running BFG KO2 305/65/18's (33.6) after reading the whole thread, I think my solution is I just want a meatier tire, time for some Mud terrains, now to decide which one????
