My 88 62.

Stock except for the 33 x 10.5 x 15 bfg ta/ko's and the rack.

I too was looking long and hard for stock suspension w/ 33's and couln't really find any good side shots. Hope these help:beer:

so it can be done on stock rims? Those look like stock on there LONELYDRIVER, but I could be wrong

thx cbmontgo ,

carbron yup they are stock rims stock suspension w/ 33x10.5x15.

only complaint is uphill on freeways... The truck is weak and it has to drop down into 3rd gear which puts it over 3k rpms and I don't think the truck likes it.

I just mounted a set of new BFG MUD's 33x10.5's on stocker 60 chromies....

I will have them for wheeling trips for my cruisers...I was just curiouse if they would fit a 60 with stock sus......

nothing like a spare set of wheels and tires that have some meat......I get sick of wheeling AT's

33X10.50's will fit onto stock rims. Some like the ride, some don't. This size will work with the stock suspension provided you don't stuff them too far into the wheel well. They will almost certainly rub in certain situations. 33X9.50's probably won't rub under any circumstances w/stock suspension. My guess is that you'll be happier with the 10.50's if you do a mild lift.

BTW - I think 9.50's or 10.50's look awesome on a stock height truck...not that that matters...

I personally think 9.5's look like ass on the the 60/62's...perform even worse !!

here is a pic with 9.5's on my 60 flexed w/OME lift.
ha ha !! dork effect !!

I like the looks of the 9.5's on my 40, but they perform like crap on the trail.
10.5's are just a good comprimize.

I will post up some pics when I stick the 33x10.5's on my stock height 60.

nice,
I have maff add a leaves + 2.5 shackles in my 87 FJ60, I currently have 35's mtr's on the truck, I think when I stick the 33x10.5 MT's on it will be good to go...do you have stock shackles....???

I started my thread thinking about putting them on my 81 FJ60 to make it a little ore offroad looking, currenly looks like a geezer truck.

I like 285/75-16's on a stock 60. (33x11.5)

the only pic i have...next day, it got a 4 " lift

here ya go. I had to take them off because of the clutch slip/rear main leak.

My rear springs are flat mind you. I mean level. Flat. Dead. Saggy. If you have any arch left they will look much better.

Kavik, I like the air that you caught with your 60. Pretty sweet.

How bad is the clutch slippage with 35" tires and stock gears? Terrible? Manageable?

I just did 32x11.50 on stock susp/wheels. In the rear it just barely touches the inner fender liner when compressed, but I'm gonna try a 1/4" spacer to fix that. Only other drawback is the middle of the tire will wear faster since the sides are pulled down a bit to squeeze on a 6.5 rim.

Gear wise I like it on the highway but I have to use more pedal in traffic to keep the engine from bogging.

I would have done the 33x10.5 BFG's but the 32 dunlop mudders where like $25 a piece cheaper.
