So i was replacing a non working window regulator. Then lubing tracks with spray silcon and i dropped the little spray staw. I was digging way into the corners of the inside of my rear door and in the corner folds i found some fine black mud. I think it is just 25 years of dust and dirt getting in there little at a time. I looked and there is drain holes in the door. I think i could take a hose on low and run some water inside the door while sticking a zip tie up the hole. Just do it a little trickle aimed right down in the comes until the water runs out clear. I figure i will dry it out as best i can and leave the door panel and plastic sheat off for a few days until it is nice and dry. Does this sound stupid? I figure having mud sit there is just asking for rust to form on a nice rust free rig.

Its what I did. No issue. Its designed to get wet in there because of the window. Its also why you have a vapor barrier before the door panel.

I think you have a great plan, the only thing I would ad is some sort of corrosion inhibitor in there when you're done. I've heard good things about using ATF in body seams, but I usually resort to my old stand by of fluid film. I've gotten into the habit of spraying it in door drains, body seams, rocker cavities etc. It can be messy, and dust will stick to it, but for me its peace of mind.

As usual i was over thinking this. Super easy. With your door panels off this should be regular maintenance. I didnt even use the garden host. Just a old empty 1 liter water bottle full of hot water. First few oz were dirty then nice and clean.

But no way was i pulling the other three door panels off just to clean them. So on the other three i used the trusty zip tie to clean drains just like we do on others drains. Then a 60ML syringe with 6" of small vacuum line stuck on it. Squirt a few syringes full of hot water in one watch it drain out the other until clear. I might introduce a little moisture into the door. So i would tend to do this on a sunny dry day to to help it dry out. But like was said, there are drain holes there for a reason.
