Should I sell my LX 470 and buy an LX 570?

The 100 is a whole lot more fun to drive than a 200 or a Camry.

I don't love the 200 near as much as the 100, but my wife sure likes it. She had a '02 Camry that was t-boned at 245k miles and I am sure she would still be driving it if it hadn't been totaled. However she was so impressed with my 350k mile 100 that she thought a 200 was a good idea. We still take my clapped out 100 when it's time to really put some miles behind us.

I have had my 2006 LX470 for awhile and last year I thought I’d upgrade to a 200. I purchased a nice LX570 and quickly realized the 06’ LX is better in almost every way. Better ride, better quality, and much simpler in almost every way. The 5.7 was a monster but the 4.7 was definitely smoother. Long story sort, I sold the 570 and stuck with my 470. I have zero regrets.

How much does a 16 year old 2005 LX470 with 270k miles really depreciate with another year, and 30k miles?

If it were me, buy the 200, keep the 100, use the high mile 100 as the long distance commuter, then again I

interesting. I was wondering the reason that I see a lot more 100 series land cruisers and LX’s out there being retrofitted for over landing or at least beefed up then the 200 series. I would think that the bigger engine would be an attraction and it doesn’t make sense to me why they would hobble the vehicle making it ride worse and perform worse. That’s crazy but I guess it’s good for us 100 series owners.

I don’t find the small under powered V8 a problem but then I’ve never wheeled my LX off Road. I can see though after adding the weight of bumpers rear storage kitchens extra fuel awnings and other overland and gear that It could definitely tax the engine. Has anyone ever put a 5.7 Toyota engine in a 100 series?

I assume price plays a big factor. The two are usually $10-20k apart in price.

Y’all keep up the banter so the OP will sell me his Hundy

If you want the absolute best ride quality you can get out of a Land Cruiser platform, a 570 or LC200 is the way to go. It feels like a Bentley compared to any older Cruiser. Just so silky smooth.
