I'm stranded 200 miles from home so a tow back is out of the question. I'm looking for a place that can drop the transmission to replace a torque converter on my 01 LX470.
At first the symptoms were an occasional slipping tranny and eventually a P0770 code, so I thought the problem was merely a torque converter solenoid. Then I got stranded on the freeway with an immovable car in any gear and audible rattling at idle.
I'd do the job myself knowing the torque converter isn't an expensive part, but towing it back home seems cost prohibitive. Can anyone suggest an indy shop or a good DIYer in the San Antonio area who can assist?
