anyone have info on shop air compressors?
need 1 for the new building, wired for 220
thinking 60 gal, vertical, probably single stage, not sure about 2 or 3 stage units, maybe 8-10 cfm? 5hp?

it is not a full time shop but a bit more than a weekend warrior

I was looking at Grainger and they have some US made units

I have a 5hp 80 gal Ingersol Rand compressor in my garage, so far it has been reliable, and enough air to handle anything I have needed it for.

I originally bought it to paint my 40, it gets more use now blowing out my irrigation every fall.

That reminds me, I need to open the drain and check for any water.

i've got a 5 hp gardner denver vert 80 gal plumbed into my old 80 gal champion tank, has the added capacity of air but mainly did it for water seperation. it's amazing the amount of water created even in our dry climate. if i was doing it again and had the cash i would seriously look at a rotary, they are quiet and create a phenomenal amt of air for their size. i ended up building a small attached shed on the back of the shop just to get the air compressor out due to the noise. seem like i don't use air tools nearly as much as we used to due to the battery powered tools but is nice when needed

Not sure if you'd be interested in a mild project compressor, but I've got a 60-gallon 5hp Quincy single stage twin cylinder vertical compressor that I'm looking to get rid of. It needs a new motor (5hp SPL) and a pressure switch but the compressor turns over nicely. Originally from Simms, used for spraying.

Don't know if you found something but I went with an 80 gallon from Murdochs due good results from the 60 gallon I bought in the past and the bang for the buck in today's economy. Been really happy with the extra performance. Tried to find a true USA built one but the more I dug into that....
